Write a vision you can act on, rank the values you will protect, and put them into everyday decisions.
Lesson 04.1
Write a Vision You Can Act On
What you will learn
Your vision is a picture of the future you are working to build. The original course recommends high-level goals, inspiration, motivation, emotion, and present-tense language.
These can help express a vision, but the statement becomes actionable only when paired with decisions and milestones.
Apply it
A strong vision describes meaningful impact; a supporting 90-day plan states what you will validate, build, or change next.
Lesson action
Draft a 3–5 sentence vision in present tense, then identify three measurable milestones for the next 90 days.

Values are the principles you aim to uphold even when a decision is inconvenient. Begin with a generous list, narrow it to five to eight, and rank them.
Review the ranking for authenticity: do the values reflect your convictions or someone else’s expectations?
Apply it
Examples include integrity, fairness, service, growth, community, sustainability, and accountability. Every business may express them differently.
Lesson action
Select five to eight values and rank your top five. Write one observable behavior for each top value.

Values affect customer treatment, relationships with employees and partners, sourcing, operations, pricing, and community impact.
A statement on a website is not enough; values need a decision rule or consistent practice.
Apply it
If transparency is a core value, show it through written pricing, clear scope, and timely communication. If employee development matters, include learning opportunities and fair feedback.
Lesson action
Create a values-to-actions chart with a specific policy or behavior for customers, team members, partners, and operations.
